2007-04-05 Sygic iDrive
Quite a difficult project with very low budget, but I thought it was a nice opportunity to show what we can do with heavily limited resources, not only funding, but also concept-wise. I was approached by Sygic to produce a short movie, about 2-3 minutes, to help promote their product, iDrive, at cebit 2007. They only had about 4 weeks until the exhibition. The only solid guideline Sygic provided, was that they wanted to tell a story with some cars, or maybe characters, that use their iDrive device to get wherever they're headed. So we came up with the entire concept of the story, characters, cityscapes etc. and produced the entire animation with some shots taken from the iDrive system to help demonstrate its features. I worked in cooperation with Jan Jinda on this one, as he modeled almost everything of what you see in the movie and I did the rest (rigging, animation, comps, lighting, rendering, postproduction etc...), all in HD (720p) resolution.
